Genesis 20 – 23

Abraham had tried to use his own methods. Twice he had told kings that Sarah was his sister, conveniently leaving out the fact that she was also his wife. He had gone along with Sarah’s plan to have a child with Hagar instead of trusting God’s plan that Sarah would be the mother of the boy that God had promised.

Now, late in his life, he again was given the ultimate test to see if he would trust God. Was he willing to give up his son, the son that he loved so much, in order to follow God’s plan?

Abraham passed the test — he was now willing to follow God’s leading in everything.
